SONY NEX 5n VS the NEX 5
Here is a short low light test that i conducted with the NEX5n and the NEX5.
The advantage of the NEX5n is the ability to manipulate shutter, aperture as well as
also ISO during video mode. Both cameras sporting the APSC HD CMOS Sensor the NEX5n
does 16 megapixels in oppose to the NEX5 that only does 14 megapixels.
While shooting video the 5n also allows the shooter the luxury to adjust Fstop as well
as shutter while shooting. ISO is not possible only unless
you stop recording to make changes. The NEX5 however does not allow any manual adjustments except
exposure compensation of which you will see i have attempted to use here in this video to decrease
the sensitivity in turn reducing also video noise in the video. Overall the
NEX5n does produce a cleaner image over the NEX5 but i was hoping to see a significant
improvement in sensitivity over its predecessor of which i did not. Also setting at VIVID mode does
crush the blacks a little reducing also video noise. Both cameras were shot in the ViVId settings.
