At VideoLifestyle.com we hope to structure our camcorder reviews from a different perspective.

Rather than stress on the technical aspect of each camcorder like most other review sites, our main objective is to focus our attention mainly on the user functionality, handling and actual quality of resolution of each camcorder rather then the technical jargon that we are plague with on a daily basis. Honestly, the fact is 90% of all users have no idea what is useful and what is not.

All our reviews featured here are conducted by Derek Yeo of Treasure Productions who owns a production company offering videography services, system integration, editing services and training for over seven years now.

An owner of no less than 30 cameras, his style of reviews are very much tailored towards a personal style and geared towards a wholistic view of these products.

Derek aka Video Cobra has also done various reviews for  magazines and also the once popular computer times (now known as digital times) on past and present trends of digital age.

Derek is also a regular feature on the video presentation circuit and have conducted quite a fair share of software lauches for household names in the industry such as ULEAD, PINNACLE and alsoSONY DIGITAL PICTURES.

With more than over 15 years of camera handling experience and technical knowledge, we hope that the site will be helpful for those who are keen in videography, video editing and the all genre of visual artform.

As more and more digital cameras possess the ability to shoot better full frame videos, we hope to also feature some reviews of such cameras in the near future and also to help those in making the right decision before they jump or in their selection of these technologies.

We hope that you will find the information on this section useful and do drop us a note or join our forum if you feel that you need some honest old fashion advice.

I met Derek of Treasure Productions more than a year ago where I got my advice to buy my camcorder that I am still using right now. It is a SONY 3CCD VX2100E.

I have never regretted the day I have taken his advice in making that investment. I wanted a camcorder that that had the ability to give me outstanding video quality as well as low lighting capability. I also wanted a camcorder with a good battery life.
Indeed it was a tall order to fill but he did just that. I ended up with the VX2100E which I truly say is an awesome camera with the makings as one of the best in my opinion in $$$$ and in quality.

I get over 700 minutes from a Sony 970 battery on my VX and let me tell stress again...that is almost the entire duration of a wedding events I shoot with still power to spare.

The camcorder is also not bulky of which I find very important as I can slip into my padded haversack
where I can carry around all day. I had also recently acquired a new editing suite from VideoLifestyle
and and which I can say beats the previous solution that I was using and has given me so much troubles.

I want to end by saying that VideoLifestyle will always be the place and the people I will consult anytime
I want to buy something video related.                    Charles / Insurance and Investment

I  was looking for a camcorder that
could shoot underwater and produced good quailty.
Seemed like all the other marine biologists
use those heavy ten thousand dollar camcorders,
I couldn't afford that for my projects, so I turned to Videolifestyle review section for help.

After reading about the Sony HC90 review, I asked Video Cobra if that was the right choice for me.
He recommended me the Sony HC90 and told me that it was sufficient as I was only planning to use the camcorder for shallow diving trips as my school projects revolved round shell organisms.

I only ended up investing less than 2k for my camcorder and my underwater housing. Now, I look forward to all my outdoor diving trips as i can get the images I want with the functions of my Sony HC90.

VideoLifestyle is my choice when it comes to
the latest technology practical answers and the right recommendation
in buying a camcorder.

My first camcorder was a PD170P and I met the good people of VideoLifestyle who strongly recommended me this camcorder for my kind of work.
Plenty of low lighting work and also a camcorder with
exceptionally good battery life.

I have used the SONY PD170P for a year now and I am moving on to High Definition Video.

The reviews here are honest and truthful and honestly
I really don't care about all the technical jargon.
Tell me what it useable, practical and that supports the kind of work I have to handle with a great workflow and that is all I care.

Thinking very strongly in buying the HVR-Z1 now but then since the V1E is out I guess I will wait awhile and see what the "VideoCobra" has to say.  Great Job! Guys and thank you very much for giving us a video community like VideoLifestyle.com.

LOW LIGHTING IS SIMPLY AWESOME!

I specialize in event coverage
and used to own the single CCD Panasonic Camcorder.
For months the confusion of which 3CCD camcorder
I should invest in for my work.
On a restricted budget,  I consulted VideoLifestyle
review sections and also for opinions from 'BOSS'
himself and finally settled on the SONY DSR-PD170P.
I can only say that I am simply overwhelmed with the results of the video quality, battery life and the also the ease of use. I compared the footage with my old Panasonic
and all I can say is..
Thanks Boss!
