Hi Richard,

Need your expertise advise with Karafun which I had just purchased it...

Hi there....

Need your expertise advise please...

1 - Is there any way I can position the text at the bottom, instead it is always displayed at the centre ?

2 - I had a KFN file with MP3 audio file (1.49M) and MPEG video file (12MB)
2.1 - When I exported it to .AVI format with both audio + video, it produced a file
            with 2.5GB video file !!!
2.2 - If I removed it the MPEG video file and exported it to .AVI, it also produced a file with 2.8GB !!!

    Is that normal ?? I doubt !!!

I want create a DVD (Using DVD Architect) for all the karaoke songs that I had created...But with such a huge file size; I dont think i can put more than 2 songs inside which is ridiculous to me..
Can you share as to how do you export it or etc etc...

Regards/Robert

Hi Robert. You can position the text at the bottom for sure, but I don't have Karafun at the office so can't check how to do it at the moment. Suggest you go through all the settings and get familiar with the controls.

Your large exported file is due the codec that you have selected. If you select a different one it will be smaller. Try to look for a DV format codec and use that.

Regarding the DVD capacity, remember that DVDA will recompress your AVI file to MPEG2 and so you will be able to get many more songs on your disc. In fact if Karafun can export directly as DVD-compliant MPEG2 you would not even need to recompress inside DVDA. This would improve the final quality a little bit.

Richard,
Tried the Vetical offset and seems to be able to move to bottom bow.
now, the problem that I had is the text appeared late, despite the fact that I had sync it at the right time frame.
Can you send me your email address to rleow1@singnet.com.sg so that I can send the .KFN file to you
for your advise.

Hi Robert.

Hope you do not think that I am a karafun guru. I think the program is not that complex, and all I did was spend a few hours with it at first, to set it up the way I wanted. Since then, I just churn out the karaoke text for each video without messing with any of the programme settings. So I am not really conversant with all the features (like using video backgrounds which I never do).

If you need help quickly it would be best to post at the karafun forum. I may not be able to test things out for you at short notice and would not like to think that you are waiting for my response.

Richard,

I had exported the Karaoke (Contain only music + Lyrics only) to AVI format; Strange thing is that..
when I import it into Vegas, I can only see the Video (Karaoke text), but not no audio at all.
I had tried various Codec, but still failed....
Mind to share as to how to which options do you select in Karafun to export it ?

Hi Robert. I think like that you will have a very large file!

I usually use a Sony DV codec that I downloaded from the net a long time ago. The equivalent settings are

Video format - PAL DV 720 x 576 25FPS
Video compression - Sony DV
Audio compression - PCM (Uncompressed)
Audio format - 48000hz stereo

It looks like in your case Vegas cannot accept the audio because it is WMA and the video is uncompressed. You can try a WMV format for video and audio, maybe that will be better?

Or how about a different workflow - you can edit your video in Vegas first, render as WMV, and then use that as the background in karafun. Then you won't need to worry about whether Vegas can read the karafun output.
