In VC's review of the HD format Canon HV30 he mentioned:

............... "You may want to consider the HV30. It's a great camcorder and though it's tape base and still recording in the m2t format, i would say it's still the best working solution anytime over the AVCHD CODEC now!" ...........

Is the AVCHD format still problematic?
Is it problematic on certain makes or just problematic, period? Is there a difference whether with the hard drive or with memory cards?
Would it be problematic editing with Sony Vegas Ver 8?

I'm trying to decide which HD camcorder to get and was setting my sights on the memory card versions purely because of the time saving when capturing to pc. However, if AVCHD is a problem then I'd go back to tape.

mmm,

i second wat VC says about the Tape VS AVCHD.

Tape is most certainly better for now. Always remember that M2t files are lesser compressed than AVCHD files  Wink
